I won’t lie to you and say this week has been great. In fact, it’s not even been remotely good. If I’m honest, this has been the first week I have truly struggled to think of five meaningful things that have made me smile. But, I started this year with a promise to myself and I’m determined to stick to sharing these posts. I have faith that things will get better; I just have to be patient.
1) Some big news
Okay, I’m going to do that thing where I tell you I received some pretty exciting news and not tell you what it is! It’s not set in stone yet and I really don’t want to jinx anything, so all will be revealed soon. But, if everything goes to plan, this year could be a milestone in my life…
2) Walking home
I’ve managed to keep up walking home from work every day for the last few weeks, unless the weather has been obscenely bad! I’m lucky that one of my friends at work lives near me, so we’ve been walking home together most days, which is lovely. Not only is walking good for your physical health, it really does clear the cobwebs in your mind too.
3) Being the sober one!
Friday night was pretty fun, culminating in an epic singalong to “Bohemian Rhapsody” and a trip to the pub. I had to drive on Saturday morning, so wasn’t able to drink as much as I would’ve liked. That meant I was the most sober one in the group and had a good laugh at the drunken shenanigans around me!
4) Poodle cuddles
In case you didn’t know, my brother’s dogs are my world. I hadn’t seen them for a couple of weeks, so they were extra cuddly on Saturday. Even Bo, who likes to play hide and seek with me, was clambering all over me giving kisses. Just what I needed this week.
5) Family dinner
I headed out for dinner with my parents on Saturday night. Even though our food took over 90 minutes to arrive (don’t worry, we got an apologetic discount), it was nice to go out with my Mum and Dad for the first time in a while.
